We present to graduate and undergraduate students the recent developments in experiments at the Atominstitut in two areas: atom interferometry and electron microscopy. We explain how these technologies can be used to build high-resolution tools for fundamental and applied research, including quantum optics, material science, and spectroscopy (from infrared range to X-rays).
