After 1990 the commercial phase of the internet began the web was developing very fast. From the web 1.0 to the web 2.0 up to the generation nowadays, the web 3.0. Although business models and business plans are a very important research area of managerial science, there are hardly any frameworks which consider the requirements of the digital world. Over the years numerous frameworks considering business model and business plan science were developed. Nevertheless, there is still no clear definition of the term business model. Most of the developed frameworks are very general and consider very view conditions of the digital business world. There are no frameworks which consider the huge uncertainties and complexities which the entrepreneurs must consider at the beginning. Because of this general view aspects of the digital business world are getting neglected and the special circumstances of entrepreneurs are not getting considered. This leads to that innovation potentials of business models are not fully exploited. The goal of this thesis is the development of a framework, which supports the development of business plan inclusive business model for digital business ideas. The framework shall also consider the circumstances of entrepreneurs. The framework introduced in this work is called the dGBM. The validation of the framework is carried out using an application example. With this step, the first validation of the practical usability is made. At the start all aspects of business plans are illustrated in a concept map. Afterwards the relation between the terms are put in place. With that structuring of the terms a sequence of activities can be set. This developed process helps entrepreneurs to start their business in an easy way. The step by step procedure takes the complexity of the huge amount of data entrepreneurs must organize in the beginning. It prevents that important inputs of business modelling are getting forgotten. In common frameworks the aspect data is not taken into account. In the digital business world data is an essential aspect. With every digital product data can be generated and therefore can be sold. In the business world nowadays this is a big revenue factor which gets more and more important. Thus, complete new business models are arising which can be developed with the dGBM. The result is a coherent framework, with that entrepreneurs can develop their business model and the surrounding business plan step by step. With the two-phase-method the flood of information gets decreased and therefore the complexity reduced. The case study reveals important economical dynamics and characteristics of digital business models.
