Raumakustik in Kirchen

Abstract

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit der raumakustischen Analyse einer barocken Kirche am Stadtrand von Wien.<br />Ziel der Arbeit war es, ein möglichst wirklichkeitsgetreues Modell zu entwickeln, mit dem man bestimmte räumliche Bereiche der Kirche akustisch betrachten kann.<br />Es sollte eine "virtuelle Kirche" entstehen, in der man durch beliebige Wahl von Sendepunkten ein möglichst umfassendes Bild der raumakustischen Situation in Form von Nachhallzeiten und Energiekriterien simuliert.<br />Durch diese Messungen können die akustisch besten Standpunkte, zum Beispiel für den Chor, festgelegt werden.<br />Das Modell, welches auf überprüften historischen Plänen des Objekts sowie Ansatzwerten aus der Literatur aufbaut, wurde zusätzlich durch in-situ-Messungen kalibriert. Abschließend konnten die Simulationsergebnisse des entwickelten Modells mittels neuerlicher Messungen verifiziert werden. Darüber hinaus wurden Personen über ihren subjektiven Eindruck der Akustik in der Kirche befragt.<br />Obwohl das entwickelte Modell die reale akustische Situation gut repräsentiert, könnten Detailbereiche noch durch zum Beispiel Analyse der lokalen streuenden Eigenschaften verbessert werden. Für qualitativ richtige Aussagen im Zusammenhang mit der Raumakustik dieser Kirche ist das Modell im Stande überblicksartig auf Fragestellungen einzugehen. Zum Beispiel die Frage, ob ein bestimmter Standort für einen Sprecher oder Chor geeignet ist, lässt sich damit beantworten.<br />Die Akustik des untersuchten Kirchenraumes ist für bestimmte Zwecke nicht gut geeignet. Da der Raum eine relativ hohe Abnahme des Schalldruckpegels hat, erscheint den entfernter Sitzenden vieles zu leise. Auch die Textdeutlichkeit leidet mit der entsprechenden Entfernung. Dieses Problem wurde bisher recht gut mit elektroakustischen Maßnahmen beseitigt.<br />

The master thesis deals with the room-acoustic analysis of a baroque church in the outskirts of Vienna.<br />The aim of the work was to develop a very realistic model with which one can look at certain spatial areas of the church acoustically.<br />There should originate a "virtual church", in which one simulates a very comprehensive picture of the space-acoustic situation in the form of reverberation times and energy criteria by any choice of broadcasting points. The acoustically best positions can be fixed by these measurements, for example, for the choir.<br />The model which is based on checked historical plans of the object, as well as beginning values from the literature was calibrated, in addition, by In-situ measurements. Finally the simulation results of the developed model could be verified by means of recent measurements. In addition, people were questioned about her subjective impression of the acoustics in the church.<br />Although the developed model represents the real acoustic situation well, detailed areas could be still improved by for example analysis of the local scattering qualities. For qualitatively right statements in connection with the acoustics of this church the model is able to answer overview-like questions. For example, the question whether a certain location is suitable for a speaker or choir can be answered with it.<br />The acoustics of the examined church space are not suitable for certain purposes well. Because the space has a relatively high decrease of the sound pressure level recorder, a lot seems to the distant seated too quiet. Also the text clearness suffers with the suitable distance. This problem was removed up to now rather well with electric-acoustic measures.
