Sahli, A. (2018).

Bizerta, the northernmost town of Africa, has no relation to its location. Although the shores are partially accessible by long ways, the spatial constellation of the building divides the areas even more and removes them proportionally. Let us bring the city closer to the sea! An Adhesion of this type suggests a basic analysis of the barriers that removes the agglomeration from its natural potential. Although the colonial architecture created a dialogue with the canal through its infrastructure, the post-colonial urbanism has turned through its ambition to modernization the back to the sea. The public space is shrinking exponentially and is largely confining to the interior. The historical inner harbor of the center, which flows directly into the Mediterranean, will create a link to the shore and will expands the public space. The de-privatization, a reorganization of the coast and an adequate concept of space and transport will create a basis for an epicenter of activities on the shore side and thus redefine the coastal side. The place that once stood in the shadow of the wrong planning gets through this interventions life and a new identity with a new character.
