The modernisation of the school is of great importance for our success as a nation and as people. There we education the new generations and prepare them for the broad world. In this context, it is important that the school as an institution is relevant throughout time and is always looking out towards the future. On one hand this can be achieved through reformation of the school system, on the other hand through competent preparation of the teacher and finally through modernisation of the facilities and buildings. In 2018 in Bulgaria, a reformation of the school system will be undertaken in order to address the aforementioned points. Despite this, the other aspects for modernising the school as an institution have been largely neglected. In my master thesis, Quarters of knowledge I offer a project for newly constructing the MG Varna as a school of the future. This would not only bring the school up to date but will also prepare it for the coming years. The classrooms will be transformed - figuratively and literally. Through mobile partitioning walls, students and teachers will be able to reconfigure the spaces as they see fit. Neighbouring classes will be able to take courses together. In addition to that, the modernised natural sciences halls offer opportunity for cooperation and interaction. The sports hall and the library are an inseparable element of a school and they must offer sufficient capacity for one of the most popular secondary schools of the city. The plot of an abandoned school building is used. Because there was previously a school there, the site has good connections and is easily accessible by public and private means of transportation. The old building will be demolished but the park and sports areas in the surrounding will be preserved and expanded.
