This diploma thesis deals with technological strategies for the division of labor between humans and machines. Throughout history, industrial production has been affected by a variety of different influences. After a period of mass production, it now has to face the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore, industrial companies attempt to adapt to the market requirement by means of new innovative production strategies. In addition to automation, new concepts for the division of labor need to be considered. The further development of industrial robots could evoke problems for the human-machine interaction in the future. This diploma thesis also describes the possibility of human-machine-cooperation using a practical example. For that purpose, two different task analyses are performed and a classification of a specific workplace is made. However, the technological progress is accompanied by organizational changes, which will force companies to adopt new strategies. Therefore, possible effects on production are assessed and possibilities to meet the challenges of the future are described.
