The present thesis investigates the combination of dierent producers for common supply in a district heating grid. The goal is to analyse combined year-round heat supply from biomass boilers and heat pumps. Also taking into account the situation in the regional electricity grid. For this purpose, the existing biomass heating plant Köstendorf in the province of Salzburg is examined. Furthermore the modication work for the integration of a heat pump and a buer storage are described and a control concept for the connection of the existing infrastructure with the newly installed components developed. Last but not least will be the description of the implementation of the developed concept into the existing system. A major challenge was the complexity of the automation network of multiple controllers and the communication protocols required. In addition, the operation of the heating network in summer led to some adjustment eorts at the transfer stations. The results show that the combination of biomass boiler and heat pump is well suited to supply a district heating grid with renewable energy throughout the year. Further, the share of the peak load boiler could be reduced. In the total heat production over the observation period of half a year, it was less than 5%. The use of the heat pump during the summer months makes it possible to use more electricity from regional photovoltaic panels for heat generation, but the observation period in this work was too short to quantify this observation.
