The design for a new concert hall located in the Donaucity pursues the idea of giving new aspects to the already well-established Viennese music culture. In addition to the expansion of the range of event venues, the building should close both spatial and usage-specific gaps in the location. For the 22nd district of Vienna, a building like this represents a significant attraction and establishes a connection to the inner-city cultural landscape. For the Donaucity itself, a concert hall offers the missing cultural scene to fulfill its function as a second center for Vienna. The construction site on the waterfront of the New Danube represents a striking point in the area, since it is a place where water meets land, nature meets the city and leisure meets daily business. The building itself can be seen as a contact point for various usage claims. Apart from concerts and rehearsal for music groups of different sizes, its premises can also be used by the general public (restaurant) and in conjunction with the neighboring school (classrooms).
