The present masters thesis deals with the issue of planning task in the field of tourism, urban planning and architecture. The choice of the designing area at the Manes-Sperber-Park in the second district of Vienna, in direct extension of the Marienbrücke over the Danube Canal, was based on the following parameters: Due to the tourist's need for an architecturally high-quality hotel design, the proximity to the city center of Vienna and the Danube Canal, which is particularly popular in the summer months, are very advantageous. The site gap provides here the necessary space in an otherwise completely built-up area. The location, in a significant urban development visual axis, offers both - views and visibility. First of all, the input parameters will be analyzed in the master thesis. On the basis of similar projects in hotel design, a space concept will be created to the requirements of an economical hotel operation and adjusted to the building site. With the architectural design, the urban visual axis and the immediate surroundings are to be upgraded. On that way, the city and its inhabitants can be compensated for the loss of a piece of public space.
