Eferding is one of the oldest cities in Austria, celebrating its 800 years of existence in 2022. Since 1886, Eferding has a railway station. Centrally located in the Eferdinger Becken, and connecting the city with AschachWels and Peuerbach/NeumarktLinz, it is an important transport hub for regional services. Yet, the train station in its current state is not only outdated, but also poorly integrated into the city. This thesis analyzes the Eferding train station in the context of urban development and traffic planning, both from a historical perspective and in view of the present situation. It aims to develop concepts for a modern redesign of the train station and its revitalization by way of improving its urban integration.
