The commune of Kirchberg am Wechsel is located in southern Lower Austria, in the district Neunkirchen. The municipal area is accessible by car from Vienna within an hour. The area is about 51,17 km in size and there live 2.439 inhabitants. The center is located at an attitude of 577 m above sea level. The community is characterized by its tradition, association activities, and pastoral life. Thus, about 94% of all inhabitants are Roman Catholic and every ecclesiastical festival is a common meeting place. Characteristic is also a good basic supply. Starting from doctors, pharmacy, shopping, police, kindergarten, compulsory schools and high school. Nevertheless, the municipality is constantly working to make life in this place more viable in order to fight against the migration in urban areas. This leads to the fact that since 2001 the population has steadily increased, especially in the years 2011 to 2016 the population has risen by almost 100 inhabitants. In order to continue this trend, from the year 2014 workshops were held between the municipality and the inhabitants of different age classes. The aim is to capture the needs and dissatisfactions of the inhabitants to take measures in this respect. After an additional survey, analysis of these workshop results and the location crystallizes the construction of a multi-purpose hall as a value for the community. A special feature of this hall is the double usability of the stage. Through an open outer wall, the stage can be used for the interior or for the outer space. In the summer, open-air cinema, open-air concerts, or in winter, the village's Christmas prize-giving ceremony can be held here. In addition, a cafe and office space are housed in the building. The location of the new building in the Center of the Village will be a great chance to improve the urbanization of Kirchberg am Wechsel.
