Development of the Danube river road between two world wars had provided dynamic development of large spectra of industrial architecture structures such as quays and ports, warehouses and depots, but also diverse types of production complexes for storing and processing grains. The Silo is located in the western part of Smederevo, Serbia, on the Danube, and was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The thesis deals with the structural analysis and the current state of the building, as well with the historical development of the entire industrial area. By moving industrial areas and confronting the current urban concepts, design for the reuse and reactivation of the forgotten cultural heritage is to be developed in such a manner, that it provides base for building a museum. The aim of this thesis is to show that even seemingly worthless objects can have certain authentic values, whose emphasizing can be significant for the present as well as for the future of a place.
