This dissertation deals with the usage of electrical drives in agricultural enginee- ring. First a short overview introduces electric drives in agricultural history. Then a comparison shows the kind of drives used in a tractor nowadays and different electric drives, which could be used in agriculture in the future. This part presents also the basic conditions regarding standards, directives and interfaces between tractor and implement. Additionally, a survey conducted under producers of agri- cultural equipment gives an outlook about the market expectations nowadays and the needs in the future. A second part summarises examples of electric drives in agricultural industry. A developed and constructed power take-off generator is used as a mobile electrical power supply. It is possible to operate asynchronous motors in open loop mode and permanent magnet synchronous motors in closed loop mode. Furthermore it is also possible to apply AC-Voltage, 3x400 V and 1x230 V, to use external electri- cal appliances. Besides the generator, three examples present properties of electric drives in agricultural industry. A third part deals with the measurement of the described examples. Test bench results show data about the generator, the motors and a combined operation. Additionally, a field test was carried out. Sensorless drives in agriculture purpose is another topic. Results of measurements show the potential for operating such devices in that manner.
