The goal of this thesis is the virtual reconstruction of the synagogues of Pilgram/Pelhrimov (Czech Republic) and Hohenau an der March (Austria). It aims to join the collection of virtual reconstruction of synagogues started in 1998. Both buildings were designed by the Viennese architect Max Fleischer around 1900. The first part of the thesis is therefore dedicated to the life and work of Max Fleischer. He planned and designed a large number of synagogues in different parts of the Habsburg monarchy. The relatively small synagogues of Pilgram/Pelhrimov and Hohenau an der March are reconstructed as part of this work. Today they would be located in different countries, and neither exists anymore. The thesis also describes the extensive research necessary to draw out the little information still available today. It covers drafts, materials used and historical backgrounds.
