Banja Luka Airport is a medium-developed international airport, which is located in the northwestern part of the Republika Srpska and offers a very good strategic position. According to previous analyzes of the Airport Banja Luka, it is one of the 11 strategic airports in South East Europe, offering the potential for further development of traffic. The airport has currently no freight cargo facilities. The aim of this work is to give an overview of the current status of the Airport Banja Luka- to describe its importance for the environment, possibilities and potentials as well as to determinate new parameters for design of a new terminal building with additional infrastructure. Since the revitalization of the existing airport field is a complex task, I turn back to the touristical potentials of the area, because transport and tourism represent tightly bound branches. The revival of one branch influences the revival of another one.
