The work presented here is focused on the Donaufeld, one of the last large, contiguous, and central areas of Vienna, and a stated target of the Vienna city development plan. The goal of this work is to develop a new neighborhood which joins the qualities of a densely-built urban area with a large adjoining landscape park. I develop a building concept and strategy based on the Vienna City Development plan and the goals put forth by the "Leitbild Donaufeld." Using these stated goals, I develop concrete building suggestions. The focus here is on the neighborhood's border, the area between the neighborhood center and the surrounding landscape park. Several different building forms are developed, with an emphasis on modular and flexible building systems. One of the building forms, the Atrium-Terrase House, is shown to achieve the goals set forth by "Leitbild Donaufeld" exceptionally well.
