The subject of this thesis is a place to refuge at Leopoldsberg in the 19th district of Vienna. In today's society, stress is part of everyday life. Due to the pressure to perform, the fast pace, hectic and pressure of time, social acceleration is always kept driving. There is hardly any time for a break. The place of refuge - Leopoldsberg, with uninterrupted views of the Danube and the city center of vienna is a place of silence and rest. A new structure and converted existing buildings form an open institution, accessible to everyone -independent by faith, gender and origin. The resting place, close to a vibrant city, offers a variety of different rooms to decelerate. To escape the daily routine for a longer period, there ist the possibility to stay in modest rooms.
