Within the past century, political decisions have widely influenced several instruments of economic policy. In this thesis, these theories will be reflected in Austria, from both, a political economic as well as regional economic point of view. After giving an impression of the development of political economic theories in general, the first part of this thesis summarizes economic political and regional economic processes in Austria. The second part then analyses the Austrian finance ministers- budgetary speeches between 1975 and 2013 and counts the use of selected keywords describing political economic and regional economic aspects. Finally, to better evaluate the acting of austrian governing parties, these keywords will be compared to the economical development of the country, comparing each governments initiatives with its actual outcome.
