The here present proposal is to understand as a in the content restricted work on the EU wide opened realisation competition from 2013 for the Austrian contribution to the EXPO 2015 in Milan. The winning theme of this former competition, BREATHE AUSTRIA, is picked up to be subject of a reinterpretation. The theme is thereby discussed along the common graphic quality of air. Space allocation plan-model of masses and physical model studies are building an expressive tool to form finding. The thereby developing space sequences are circulation and promenade at the same time. The building is perambulated on the whole and as experienced as a whole as sell. Visual contacts between the different exhibition levels are given through dissolved slabs. The static system is made by reinforced concrete columns as well as reinforced concrete floors. The facade construction is carried primary by a statically effective steel structural tubing shape that is tied to the ceiling structure at specific points. The facade itself consists of a bivalve membrane construction filled with excessive pressurised air. The inner membrane assumes the function of serving the optical requirements of the author. The partition of the individual segments is following the raster image of the substructure. The external membrane has the function of being a sun protection and is divided in bigger segments. The form is thereby hold by cable fittings. The enclosure is not closed and is as a consequence no climate enclosure. Different transparencies of the air cushion facade are allowing different depth perceptions of the space. It is an exhibition pavilion that is using the exhibition theme as concept of the proposal.
