Burgos Moreno, F. A. (2013). A comparison of Chile and Austria with regard to building related energy standards [Diploma Thesis, Technische Universität Wien]. reposiTUm. https://doi.org/10.34726/hss.2013.13420
The general objective of this study is the analysis, further development and improvement of energy standards, which best suit the national context of Chile. The motivation of this research is the identification of the state of the art in Chile, existing barriers, evaluation of the efficiency of energy rating international standards for residential and commercial buildings, currently implemented in Chile in view of the local climate and state of the practice. Austria is used as a benchmark country which follows the high standards of the European Union; this comparison will allow for the identification of improvement potentials of Chilean Standards. Comparative analysis of the climate zones and U Value Requirements for various building components in Chile and Austria has been conducted in detail. The objective is to determine whether these requirements are sufficient for achieving energy efficiency in the housing sector in Chile.<br />
