The aim of this thesis is to describe, calculate and analyze the structural behavior of punching shears used with interior, edge and corner columns. Furthermore, various forms of punching shear reinforcements are being described, calculated and analyzed. Measures for subsequent amplification of punching shear endangered flat slabs are specified. In addition, the thesis contains a comparative study in which 21 flat ceiling systems with variable input parameters such as the static effective height, the span, the concrete quality, the level of reinforcement, the punching shear reinforcement shape and the edge distance are being analyzed. Finally, these outcomes and the correlation between each of the parameters is being depicted.
