This thesis deals with the comparison of different calculation methods of vaulted constructions. After a brief introduction, three representative buildings are analyzed: an arch of Vienna's "Stadtbahn", an arched slab and a cylindrical vault - a so called "Platzldecke". Besides of the historic design calculation all three vaults are also analyzed using several modern methods. These three examples are shown using historic, as well as modern techniques. In a first step default formulas are applied. In the second step the vault is calculated as a two hinged arch using the program Dlubal RSTAB. With the help of Dlubal RSTAB it is possible to depict loads very realistically. In a next step a frame-work model is developed which allows fast calculations and satisfactory patterns of deformation. With the same perimeters the vault is calculated using a FE-model. For the frame-work model as well as for the FEmodel the side bearings are modeled as springs. The stiffness of these springs get varied during the calculations. For comparing the results of the samples a graphic procedure is utilized.
