Abstract:
The structural earnings survey (SES) sample proposes accurate and harmonised data on the level and structure of remuneration of employees, their individual characteristics and the enterprise or local unit to which they belong in EU Member States and candidate countries.<br />The motivation and the main aim of this diploma thesis is to offer a synthetic simulated population representing the SES data of Austria.<br />Such a synthetic population ensures that neither a certain person nor a certain enterprise can be identified. The simulation is based on the Austrian SES sample. Generating a completely realistic population seems to be an impossible task, but being as close to reality suffices for drawing meaningful conclusions from simulation studies. The simulation is modified on the ideas of Münnich and Schürle [2003] and Alfons et al.<br />[2011]. By using quality measures in form of the benchmarking indicators and visualisations the simulated population is analysed and evaluated.<br />
