Nowadays the interest for sustainable planning in architecture is increasing. This demand is the topic of this thesis, in which the "IEAA-Tool" (Integration of Energetic Aspects in Architecture competition) is introduced. This tool is used in architecture competitions in Austria for the purpose of energetic evaluation.
Using the example of a design of a kindergarten in passive house standard, the tool is being tested for its practicability.
This is done by applying the tool to various different drafts of the kindergarten structure, which are then graphically described for comparison. The result of this comparison is an energetical optimization of the kindergarten design, which is described as the main focus of this thesis.
