The architectural design is based upon the conflict between industrial and natural landscape and targets an increased recreational value of an existing allotment along the railway tracks of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). A noise protection wall minimizes train noise and provides for new design possibilities along the tracks. Modular, temporary detached houses made of steel and wood, whose shape and size can be modified according to user needs and season, are erected on the individual garden plots. In case the plot gets recalled by the owner, the tenant can easily disassemble, remove, and re-erect the house on another plot. At the same time, wall, roof, and floor modules can be rearranged to fit the new plot in terms of size, shape and/or solar orientation.
