The aim of the master thesis was to describe how to implement the Radio Frequency ID (RFID) technology in a profitably and useful form in the supply chain of a food production company, which also includes the methodical training of the Key- User. Through this thesis the applicability of RFID in the supply chains of food industry, especially in an Austrian food production company, which was used as example, should be shown. In order to manage a successful implementation, it is essential to make an efficient analyze of the employed processes in the company. Another condition is to set up an explicit trainings plan for key user, who should handle the new technology without problems. The method of resolution is firstly to explain the basics of the RFID- technology and supply chain. Afterwards the processes of an exemplary enterprise will be analyzed and the room for improvement will be shown.
Then a concept will be presented which includes pointed trainings methods for key user.
The exemplary enterprise is an anonym austrian food production company, where long- living food products are produced. The customer group ranges from retail industries to social facilities like for example schools and nursing homes. The company has an own logistics and produce about 30000 kg products (50000 items) per day.
