The thesis deals with the correlation between austria's architectural avant-garde of the 1960s and the Wiener Aktionismus. Questions concernig a new materiality, as well as the search for a new embodiment and new ways of representation on the basis of a new medium seem to have been the fundament for all the documented works on both sides. Simultaneaously developed in the same socio-cultural surrounding, both fields are treated seperately and independently by specialist literature up until now. The intention of this thesis is to put austrian architecture and performative Art after 1955 in a direct relation for the first time. The aim is to point out parallel matters and concerns. By executing this, the thesis should provide the basis for further examination.
