The topic of this thesis is the development of a tool for the routeing for the european inland waterways. This tool should be based upon Microsoft Excel. As a result, after selecting a start port and a port of final destination, the tool should calculate informations relating to the route, for example the distance, the expected travel time, the number of locks, the travelled rivers and the lowest class of the waterways on the respective route. At the first part of the thesis some basic informations about the european inland navigation and the routeing are listed. Subsequently, the structure and the function of the new developed tool are explained. Finally, there is a comparison between the new tool and already existing ones.
