This master thesis deals with the revitalization of the Polish precast residential buildings. In the course of preparation, the country`s main precast systems, their national and regional application, and their production are described. A schematic rule basement of WUF-T (one of the five main systems) is ultimately used in the drawing up of the project. Based on that, the design focuses on the one hand on upgrading the apartments: how to -break- the former socialist-communist ideology. Certain walls and ceilings of the stock are removed, new maisonettes nest in an exciting way on two floors. As an result, two-storey spaces, galleries, space-expanding bays, gardens and terraces arise. In addition, mobile elements like sliding and rotating walls provide a wide variability of the floor plans. Lush windows and patio doors open the living area and shed new light into the rooms. On the other hand, large segments of the long "chain building" are cut out. The resulting gaps between the new buildings provide space for parking, open the whole structure and create new connections. In the further course, the flat roofs are transformed into roof terraces and enclosed. The different functions give each building-complex an individual character and contribute to increasing the quality of living in.
