The Austrian education system is in a state of change. Architecture is also affected. There is also a structural attempt to meet the changed requirements through the development of new types of schools. In 2015 in Vienna Donaustadt a competition for an education campus was announced This project is to implement one of fourteen new educational institutions, which will be built in Vienna until 2023 according to the so-called „Campus Plus “concept. The educational campus in Vienna Donaustadt offers space for one to fourteen-year-old children as part of a full day care. The focus is on planning, which is very limited and determined by certain requirements of the competition. A building form is developed which offers sufficient space for pedagogical ideas. The building has a wooden construction, which allows the creation of a multitude of free and green spaces that are available to the users of the educational campus. The city tries to involve nature and nature is reflected in the architecture. The educational institution thus meets the different requirements of the children. On the one hand, the architecture is modern and beautiful and on the other hand, it gives the feeling of being a second home.
