This thesis deals with the optimal asset allocation of an investor between a riskless bank account and a risky asset in the binomial asset pricing model. The goal is to find a consumption-investment plan via dynamic programming, that maximizes the expected utility over the life cycle. Existing models are based on the assumption of a constant investment opportunity set, which we want to relax by adjusting the transition probabilites in each state of the binomial model by using Bayes'ian updating, to increase the dynamics of the investment process.
