Abstract In this thesis we want to establish properties of fundamental solutions of canonical systems. To this end, we give a thourough introduction to canonical systems and basic properties of their fundamental solution. Further, we analyze the growth of the fundamental solutions, and we regard growth functions, proximate orders and slowly varying functions in this context. Finally, we present two results, where we determine the order of canonical systems under certain requirements.
