This diploma thesis is concerned with the dynamic behavior of systems that operate in the vicinity of non-Hermitian degeneracies - also known as "exceptional points". In particular, the question is addressed, how different phenomena that are induced by exceptional points can be described analytically and understood from a physical point of view.
